Simon Harsent photographs icebergs in Greenland and Newfoundland in his book Melt: Portrait of an Iceberg. Some nice photos. As Harsent notes, by the time they make it here, they are battered, but never quite small, and certain of them have made it into St. John’s harbor. There’s something strangely fascinating about them, with intense colors of light blues and greens depending on the weather and what they are reflecting. I think iceberg hunting season (which is what I call it) isn’t that far along here in NL.
